PatentSearchAssistant is a system to create a professional-level patent search formula by entered keywords.
PatentSearchAssistant is offered the terms(the related terms) related to the keywords to be entered, the keywords, and the patent classification codes(IPC, F-term, FI, US Class) that is strongly related to the related terms.
By sifting through these information, you will be able to create a professional-level patent search formula.

How much does it cost to use PatentSearchAssistant?

A.

1ID for each of Japanese version and U.S. version is available at 2,100 yen per month.

How do we apply ?

A.

Can we use 1 ID by several people?

A.

No, you can't. Please use 1ID by one person.

Q.

What do we need to use PatentSearchAssistant?

A.

Please prepare to the environment access to the internet and with web browser such as IE and FireFox.

What hours can we use PatentSearchAssistant?

A.

PatentSearchAssistant is available for 24 hours.
We may temporarily stop our service for a maintenance. We will announce a maintenance in advance in our website.

Can we start your service around the middle of the month?

A.

The start of the service is available at the first day of each month, although we receive your application anytime.

How do we cancel?

A.

Please note that your payment for your service charge which has been already paid will not be refunded.

What is a related terms?

A.

They are Synonyms for Keywords to be entered, Broader term words, and Narrower term words.
There are two types of the related terms, which are collected on the basis of the pattern described from Patent publications, and collected from the existing synonymous dictionary.

Q.

Please tell us about a proposed mechanism of the related terms.

A.

It is offered the related terms corresponding to the entered keywords, by using the related terms dictionary that was registered the related terms.

Q.

How many related terms are registered in the related terms dictionary?

A.

As of August 1, 2011, they are registered about 10 million words and about 1.5 million pairs of pairs of related words.

What are the patent classification codes?

A.

They are IPC, F-term, FI, and USA class.

Q.

Please tell us about a proposed mechanism of the patent classification code.

A.

It is offered the frequent patent classification codes in the patent classification codes that are given to Patent gazettes which were described to the entered keyword and selected related terms.

Q.

Please tell us about Patent publications that is the object of analysis in Japanese version.

A.

Patent publications that are opened to public from 1996 to 2011 are the objects of analysis.
We are also adding the data of Patent publications after 2012 every month.

Please tell us about Patent publications that is the object of analysis in the U.S. version.

A.

Patent publications that are opened to public from 1998 to October, 2011 are the objects of analysis.
We are also adding the data of Patent publications November, 2011 and later every month.

Q.

Is there a limit to the number of keywords or characters that can be entered in the entry field of "Keyword input"?

A.

Without regard to the number of keywords or characters, there is the limit of the capacity.
A string of more than 4MB including spaces can not be searched for the related terms.

Q.

Is there a limit to the number of characters that can be entered in the entry field of "text input"?

A.

Without regard to the characters, there is the limit of the capacity.
A string of more than 4MB including line breaks or spaces can not be extracted the keywords.

Q.

Assumed related terms are not offered. What should we do?

A.

They may not be registered in the patent related terms dictionary.
Please register the related term by using “Adding word”. By doing this, they will be offered after next time.

Q.

Assumed patent classification codes are not offered. What should we do?

A.

The terms that strongly related to the plural fields (e.g. the general terms) may not be offered the assumed patent classification codes.
Please remove the general terms from the keywords or the related terms, and use the keywords that are more limited field.

Q.

How do the keywords and other information that the user has entered are being treated?

A.

They are stored in the server.
We use the information during the trial period in order to optimize the system such as improvement of the search speed or accuracy of the proposal related words by analyzing the search frequency of each keyword.
We manage your entered variety of information in association with ID information.
Therefore, we make sure other users do not find out about any information.

How should we do if the contact person or the address has changed?

A.

Please download the notice of change registration information, then please send us either by fax or e-mail after filling out the required information.
